The facade is beginning to peel back from the so-called ministry of Southern California Pastor Rick Warren, author of "The Purpose Driven Church" and "The Purpose Driven Life." Unfortunately, many among his ample flock have far too much invested in him, both emotionally and otherwise, to admit their mistakes and cut their losses.
Moreover, he certainly faces no possibility of in-depth scrutiny from the "mainstream media," as his brand of "Christianity" poses little or no threat to their liberal social agenda. Yet to the degree that anyone at all questions Warren as anything less than authentic, his response is thoroughly telling as to his true character, as well as the nature of his "ministry."
Joseph Farah, editor in chief of the premiere Internet news site, "World Net Daily," opened a can of worms by calling Warren to account over his fawning praise of the terrorist stronghold of Syria. While there, Warren lauded the brutish dictatorship as "peaceful," claiming that the Islamist government does not officially sanction "extremism of any kind."
When confronted by Farah, an American of middle-eastern decent who knows too well the history of horror and tragedy faced by persecuted Christians in that region of the world, Warren immediately denied ever making such statements.

Alas, masculinity has come under siege. All manner of unpleasant things that happen to women are blamed on those linear-thinking, knuckle-dragging males. Even young lads are viewed with suspicion – earlier this month a 4-year-old boy in Waco, Texas was placed on in-school suspension following an unwelcome hug of a teacher’s aide.
We shouldn’t pretend to be surprised. Six years ago Christina Hoff Sommers warned us about the feminist-inspired War Against Boys, and a year later Paul Craig Roberts wrote a column with the startling title, "Criminalizing Masculinity."
Finally in 2006, people came to realize the assault wasn’t going to let up just because of the preposterous nature of the claims about the patriarchal conspiracy. Indeed, people began to wonder if the opposite was true – that men had willingly carried the most dangerous and onerous roles in society to the primary benefit of women.
Even corporate America saluted the return of the macho. This year Burger King, Miller Lite, and Haggar pants all unveiled ads that put the kibosh on effeminate metrosexuals in favor of the rough-and-tumble he-guy.
So this year’s Award for Political Incorrectness is made to an individual who made an enduring public statement about masculinity during the past 12 months.

Under the 1997 International Chemical Weapons Convention, all signatories, including the United States, were to destroy their stockpiles of chemical weapons by 2006. That deadline has since been put off until 2012, but the U.S. is now requesting a further extension, to the year 2023.
To this point, we've only eliminated approximately 41 percent of our Cold War-era chemical weapons stocks, while the Russians have only destroyed about 3 percent of their own. This is unacceptable. According to our inspectors, Saddam Hussein obliterated all of his chemical weapons in a moment of panic, after those same intrepid inspectors had gotten a little too close for comfort. If he can complete a project like that almost instantly, then there's no excuse for our taking 26 years to do the same.
Are we so filled with hubris that we won't admit that there are certain things our enemies can do better than we can? Saddam may be a genocidal maniac, but if he really destroyed all of his chemical weapons in 1991 — as the Duelfer Report tells us he did — then our global commitments demand that we at least try to learn his methods before asking for yet another 11 years. To that end, here are some suggestions on how to destroy chemical weapons quickly and inexpensively, in such a way that is sure to satisfy the international community.

The Islamic terrorists Fifth Column in the US — no, not the news media, the other Fifth Column — the Council on American-Islamic Relations is once again at the forefront of mischief-making in their goal of undermining US efforts in combating terrorism.
CAIR is encouraging Muslims to file civil rights complaints and lawsuits if the "feel" they are being discriminated against by US airlines. Citing what it called the "airport profiling" of six imams removed from a recent US Airways flight, CAIR said Muslims traveling this month to the holy site in Saudi Arabia need to be aware of their rights.
"Given the increase in the number of complaints CAIR has received alleging airport profiling of American Muslims, we believe it is important that all those taking part in this year's hajj be aware of their legal and civil rights," said Ibrahim Hooper, CAIR spokesman.

A Gold Star Mother is urging American troops to snub Sen. John Kerry during his visit to Iraq. "I'm asking our men and women in Iraq to not allow themselves to be forced to pose with Kerry during his photo ops," said Debra Bastian, who lost her son in Iraq in 2005.
"This man is a disgrace. He should be shunned by those serving in Iraq. He is not their friend. They [the soldiers] should not be forced to pose for pictures with Kerry the way they did when Sen. Hillary Clinton visited Iraq," she said.
The Massachusets senator is in the Middle East reportedly to meet with the presidents of Iran and Syria. While visiting Egypt, he also took a number of swipes at President Bush and his Middle East policy.
While in Egypt, critics say Kerry pandered to hatred for Israel in order to score points with the Egyptians.
"Kerry hasn't changed from his days as a anti-war protester who spouted lies against his fellow soldiers," said the angry Bastian.

Most of us are still catching our breath from the watershed November 7 elections. But with Hillary Clinton the likely contender for the Democratic Party, the pundits are already cranking out their assorted hissy-fits, half-truths, and pre-emptive attacks.

With Mrs. Clinton now working the phones with her Democratic pals in Iowa and New Hampshire, people are talking about Hillary’s presidential ambitions. It’s one of those "Will she or won’t she?" storylines that most candidates-to-be yearn for.
But to Estrich, this speculation is proof-positive that the patriarchy is alive and well. "There’s something about Hillary. And it definitely has to do with her sex," Susan wails.
And when political insider Dick Morris criticizes Hillary for her "coy pretense of indecision," Estrich hits the roof. "Are men routinely accused of being ‘coy’ for being organized, or is this just the beginning of how it will be to see subtle sexism at work in the coverage of a woman candidate?," she rants.

Several police organizations are up in arms over a taxpayer funded college honoring a cop-killer and domestic terrorist.
"The cowardly school administration at the City College of New York have allowed a student community room to be named in honor of a domestic terrorist and cop-killer," said officials from the National Association of Chiefs of Police in a statement.
"You can bet your life they'd never allow the center to be called The Jesus Christ Community Center."
The New York City college students who share the community room named for the escaped cop killer Assata Shakur proclaimed their love for the fugitive murderer.
Members of seven campus groups also commended the school administration for allowing them to work in the name of a domestic "terrorist" now believed to be hiding in Cuba.
"And we consider her a hero and role model for standing up for our people and putting her life on the line."

It just keeps getting worser and worser…
I included the Dennis Miller quote simply because I think it's brilliant. The ungrammatical statement I made that follows reflects the percentage of Americans who I believe wouldn't have been keeping an eye on a group of six imams acting suspiciously on an aircraft. Whether the men were making a dry run (as did the 9/11 hijackers), looking to cash in on a civil suit, seeking to stir up the ire of the politically-correct, or simply being troublesome for hate's sake, the reaction of the passengers who did take notice and the subsequent actions of the crew and the airline were most assuredly called-for.
But no. We have now the idiots who would have ignored the imams supporting the contention that they were being persecuted, profiled, singled out. The passengers on that plane should have taken no more notice of them than a group of flight attendants. That there is serious debate (let alone probable litigation) taking place as to the propriety of US Airways' actions in Minnesota is manifestly insane.
Alexandria, VA — It is now known, as the Associated Press reported Wednesday, that former Clinton National Security Adviser Samuel ‘Sandy’ Berger did not just steal classified documents about terrorist threats to the U.S. prior to his testimony before the 9/11 commission. He also hid those documents under a construction trailer, retrieved them later, cut several of them into small pieces and put them in the trash.
Yet the Thursday evening news shows at ABC, NBC, and CBS did not even mention these new revelations, and instead focused on topics such as the weather in Denver, the recovery of a race horse, and how much exercise it takes to work off a gingerbread cookie. In response to the network evening news’ blackout on Berger, MRC President Brent Bozell issued the following statement:

The socialistic welfare state is extolled by liberal-socialistic- progressives as more Christian then Christianity, because the welfare state purports to help the needy. So did Hitler's National Socialism.
Traditional Christmas spirit, depicted in Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol, was the warmth of family gatherings, friendship, and loving kindness to everyone.
Today, however, many people insist that socialism IS Christianity.
It's certainly true that the early churches established by the Apostle Paul grew rapidly, because people found there the Christian love and fellowship, as well as support for the poor, sick, elderly, and disabled, that was available nowhere else.
The socialist political state, however, is expressly atheistic and materialistic. There can therefore be no identity between Christianity and socialism, simply on the superficial basis that they nominally espouse some of the same objectives.
The collectivized compulsion of the socialistic state is exemplified by bureaucratic rules mandating certain conduct, described in tens of millions of regulations.
The spirit of Christmas is written in every individual human heart.
