Family Research Council Press Release
Washington, D.C. – Today and in recent days, several Senate Democrats have announced their intent to vote against Judge Samuel Alito to serve as an Associate Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.
Connie Mackey, Vice President for Government Affairs, Family Research Council, issued the following statement:
"Following a week’s delay on the nomination of Judge Alito for the Supreme Court, it is quite clear why breaking the ‘good-faith’ agreement was necessary: to provide partisan Democrats an opportunity to announce their shallow opposition to Judge Alito before a sympathetic audience of their most extreme supporters.
"Judge Alito appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee for over 18 hours, answered more than 700 questions, was determined to be unanimously ‘well-qualified’ for the position by the liberal American Bar Association, and was characterized by associates and colleagues as a fair minded and judicially restrained judge.
"Unable to derail and destroy the nomination, Senate Democrats have instead used his nomination as a vehicle to attack the policies of President Bush. Once again, it is clear that shameless partisan Democrats, beholden to their extreme liberal base, are committed to politics over a fair constitutional process.
"It should be noted that not all Democrats join the ranks of the extreme left. I commend Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE) for his open support of Judge Alito, and I call upon other fair-minded Senate Democrats to follow Sen. Nelson’s example. It is time for liberal Democrats to pursue the best interests of the nation and abandon the interests of the extreme left."

New Orleans Mayor, Ray Nagin stated that hopefully New Orleans will become a “chocolate” city once more and claimed “God was mad at America”. Those two remarks got little attention in th main-stream media. When the Islamic clerics blamed Katrina on God’s vengeance against the United States, again little was found in the media on this remark.
But Pat Robertson’s remarks concerning 9/11:
We have insulted God at the highest level of our government. Then, we say, "Why does this happen?" It is happening because God Almighty is lifting His protection from us. Once that protection is gone, we are vulnerable because we are a free society. (Source: PatRoberson.com)
Pat’s remarks refer to the fact that because America has become lack in it security and has allowed terrorist to freely enter our country. A fact that could have been prevented. But Nagin’s remark “God was mad at America” was reference to a natural catastrophe that could not have been prevented. But the loss of life could have been prevented if Nagin heeded the warning and instituted the evacuations when he had the chance.
As posted today on Times Watch:
After all, post-9-11 the Times ran three news stories devoted to televangelist Pat Robertson’s inflammatory comments suggesting the ACLU and other liberals shared some blame for the terrorist acts, and Robertson’s remarks cropped up on several occasions in the paper in the months afterward.
Nagin’s words, by contrast, have so far merited just today’s 90-word squib from the Associated Press, hanging off the end of a Times reporters story from New Orleans. It took a Nagin apology for the Times to notice.
Pat Robertson’s post 9/11 remarks more truth in it that Nagin’s post Katrina remarks. Nagin was obviously covering up his own deadly mistakes.
WAWA is the only media outlet with an exclusive video and interview with Mordechai Vanunu that did not go through the Israeli Military Censor. Mordechai Vanunu is a Christian held captive in Jerusalem because he told the world the truth that Israel had gone nuclear in 1986.
Florida (PRWEB) January 18, 2006 — On January 15, 2006 LINK TV made the announcement that they were the only USA media to broadcast an interview with Mordechai Vanunu.
It was reported by LINK TV that the New York Times and CNN both declined to broadcast their recent interviews with Vanunu, who blew the whistle in 1986 regarding Israel’s WMD program.
Foreign media is required to obtain the approval of the Israeli Military censors before broadcasting.
WAWA, http://www.wearewideawake.org, is the only Pro-Bono Public Service website confronting media and governments that shield the whole truth and WAWA is the only media outlet with video of Vanunu not approved by Israeli Military censors.
WAWA’s Reporter, Eileen Fleming has never been a paid journalist but is the author of fiction, Op-eds and the WAWA BLOG.
Fleming is also a curious Christian and obtained the five minute video message from Vanunu in June 2005. His message to American Christians is available on WAWA’s homepage, http://www.wearewideawake.org
Fleming’s in depth interview with Vanunu is available in Chapter 1 of Keep Hope Alive II also available on WAWA’s homepage: http://www.wearewideawake.org
Vanunu converted from Judaism to Christianity 20 years ago and only days before he was kidnapped by the Mossad in Rome. This occurred at the same time the London Sunday Times broke his story and published Vanunu’s photos documenting the fact that Israel had gone nuclear in 1986.
Vanunu underwent a closed door trial and endured 18 years in jail for treason and espionage. His real crime was for telling the world the truth that Israel had gone nuclear.
Vanunu was released from jail in April 2004. He remains a Christian held captive in Jerusalem under severe restrictions by the Israeli government that controls his speech and movement.
LINK TV offered less than two minutes from Vanunu, who said nothing new LINK TV claims to be the only USA media to broadcast an interview with Vanunu but WAWA has the only exclusive video of Vanunu delivering a specific message to American Christians and to anyone who wants to avoid nuclear holocaust at http://www.wearewideawake.org
Vanunu’s next trial begins January 25, 2006, for speaking to the media.
The New York Times motto should be "All The Fake News Fit To Print."
One way the New York Times gets to stir up the anti-war emotions to the American people is bring the realities of the Afghanistan war to its readers. Even if it means faking it.
The NYT originally ran a photo taken shortly after the CIA’s bombing raid that attempted to take out al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri. The original caption of the photo by Agence France-Presse was: "Pakistani men with the remains of a missile fired at a house in the Bajur tribal zone near the Afghan border."
You can view the picture with corrected caption and judge for yourself. There is no telling how long the NYT will allow the picture to be displayed.
Ned Barnett, an expert on military technology and frequent contributor to The History Channel, told Lifson that based on his extensive experience in researching military technology, "I can verify that this is a 152mm or 155mm artillery shell – unfired – and by the looks of it, fairly old. It also looks like it has a fuse in it, suggesting that the guys in the photo are either ditch-water dumb or have a death-wish."
Barnett said the Times’ "claim that it was the remains of a rocket is nonsense. Rockets are frail, light-weight, flimsy things (for obvious reasons). Artillery shells are robust, mostly cast steel (the explosive weight is really rather small considering the overall weight of the shell), again for obvious reasons."

This was not the first time, nor will be this last time the New York Times has printed less than the truth.
The Mexican military apparently have no regard to our borders.
Our border security has been almost non-existent for years. With inadequate manpower our border patrol agents have been doing the best they can, but they need more manpower to accomplish the job.
The following is the DHS Press Release announcing increase border security.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Michael Chertoff announced today the creation of new Border Enforcement and Security Task Forces, as part of the Department’s Secure Border Initiative aimed at increasing control over our borders. These task forces will be nationally-integrated teams with federal, state, and local representation specifically directed at cross-border criminal activity.
“These new task forces will take a comprehensive approach to dismantling criminal organizations that exploit our border,” said Secretary Chertoff. “The task forces will be charged with sharing information, developing priority targets, and carrying out coordinated law enforcement operations that will enhance border security.”
“We are very pleased to join DHS in this initiative,” said Attorney General Gonzales. “The complexities surrounding the security of our borders require innovative partnerships and strategic thinking. The intelligence-driven enforcement teams announced today exemplify the type of collaboration needed to be successful in securing our borders."
The Border Enforcement and Security Task Forces build on the Department’s experiences fighting violent cross-border crime in Laredo, Texas, during Operation Black Jack. Operation Black Jack has been a focused effort to coordinate Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Protection, Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, U.S. Marshals Service, and other state and local law enforcement agencies, with significant support from the United States Attorney’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office. Operation Black Jack has already resulted in the arrest of 26 individuals and the seizure of more than $1 million in U.S. currency, 19 assault rifles, 300 pounds of marijuana, and 330 pounds of cocaine.
Operation Black Jack has benefited from information assembled by multiple agencies to go after organized cross-border criminal activity. Like Operation Black Jack, additional task forces will be co-located, intelligence-driven enforcement operations, placed in areas where significant border security vulnerabilities exist, and where measurable results can be achieved.
Border Enforcement and Security Task Forces will focus on every element of the enforcement process, from interdiction to prosecution and removal, with the goal of eliminating the top leadership and supporting infrastructure that sustains these cross-border organizations. They will leverage federal, state, tribal, local, and intelligence entities to focus resources on identifying and combating emerging or existing threats.
The next Border Enforcement and Security Task Force will be stood up in Arizona, after DHS conducts a threat assessment of that area. DHS will conduct similar assessments as it establishes additional task forces and will constantly measure results in order to refine and focus our enforcement actions.

Heavily armed Mexican military units have been routinely crossing the border. Their actions are illegal. It is believed they are helping the illegal drug and human smugglers. This evidence was provided by the Department of Home Land Security.
Spokeswoman for the DHS said her department is in ongoing discussions with the Mexican government about the incursions.
"We – the Department of Homeland Security and the CBP (U.S. Customs and Border Protection) – are determined to gain control of the border and will continue to collaborate with our partners on the border,” Kristi Clemens told the paper.
The document indicates since 1996, Mexican military personnel made their way into the U.S. at the following Border Patrol sectors:
- San Diego County, 17 times
-
El Centro, 58
-
Yuma, Ariz., 24
- Tucson, Ariz., 39
-
El Paso, Texas, 33
-
Marfa, Texas, 8
-
Del Rio, Texas, 3
- Laredo, Texas, 6
-
Rio Grande Valley, Texas, 28
"That number [of 216] is 20 times larger than even the Minuteman project organizers are aware of,” said Jim Gilchrist, co-founder of the Minuteman Project, a civilian group concerned with border security. "But I’m not surprised at that number. There are significant drug and human cargo cartels involving Mexican military threatening Americans at the border. But our Congress has turned a blind eye to it because what the American people don’t know won’t bother them – that’s how our representatives think.”
One border agent speaking on condition of anonymity told the Bulletin: "We’ve had armed showdowns with the Mexican army. … These aren’t just ex-military guys. These are Mexican army officials assisting drug smugglers.”
The Mexico government refuses to admit they have any knowledge of these incursions onto U.S. soil.
U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo has been out spoken for these border crossing and has been calling for immediate action by our government. Increasing border patrol personal will not be enough.
"It is a military problem,” said Tancredo. "We should commit the military to the border – tomorrow. I mean, with armor and weapons.”
These illegal incursions will only increase unless all the eyes of Congress are opened.

Press Release from Family Research Council:
Washington, D.C. – Tony Perkins, President of Family Research Council released the following statement in response to Senator Ted Kennedy’s questions to Judge Samuel Alito during today’s Senate confirmation hearings:
"The height of hypocrisy is in full array as the Senate Judiciary Committee questions one of the most qualified judges ever nominated to the court.
"Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) has shown us, once again, that he has no shame in his attempts to destroy the character of the good judges who have come before him and who have been nominated by a Republican president.
"As in the past, he began with his statement of total untruths to set the tone against the nomination of Judge Alito. Kennedy claimed that Judge Alito had never in his lower court rulings decided in favor of average Americans and set the stage for his audience of NARAL, NOW and the ACLU.
"No other member of the Judiciary Committee was as accusatory in their opening remarks as Kennedy. Make no mistake, the senators who have been consistently in the pocket of the liberal left organizations played to their agenda as well.
"Senator Kennedy should act more like a U.S. Senator and stop using talking points from the liberal groups with whom he routinely meets.
"Kudos to Senator Sessions who was prepared to respond to the untruths of Senator Kennedy and who recited case and point regarding each of the false charges Kennedy had leveled."
Press release from Liberty Counsel.
San Diego, CA – Federal Judge Irma Gonzales has now approved a settlement between San Diego City Schools ("District") and Child Evangelism Fellowship ("CEF"), which sponsors Good News Clubs. The settlement partially ends a lawsuit filed by Liberty Counsel on behalf of CEF seeking free and equal access to conduct after-school Good News Club meetings. The amount of attorney’s fees owed by the San Diego City Schools is still pending.
Good News Clubs are religious, after-school clubs for elementary school children, ages 5-12. District policy provided free use of the facilities to groups servicing district youth. When CEF applied for use of school facilities, District officials insisted that CEF pay "fair rental value" because, the District claimed, CEF is a "church conducting religious services." From 1999 to 2005, CEF was charged fees to use the school facilities when other similar secular groups were not. Each year the District increased the amount of the fees. The fees became so cost prohibitive that CEF was forced to discontinue the Good News Clubs. District employees and parents pleaded for the Good News Clubs to return, but the increased usage costs prohibited the meetings.
The settlement repeals the former discriminatory policy and implements a new one that provides CEF with free and equal access to District facilities. CEF will immediately begin meeting on the District campuses. The federal court will retain jurisdiction to enforce the terms of the settlement. The court will also issue a ruling on the amount of attorney’s fees the District is required to pay. San Diego City Schools is the second largest school district in California, behind the Los Angeles Unified School District ("LAUSD"). In 2003, Liberty Counsel won a similar suit against LAUSD on behalf of CEF. In another Liberty Counsel case in 2004, a federal court of appeals ruled that public school teachers and staff may conduct Good News Club meetings on campus immediately after the last bell.
Mathew D. Staver, President and General Counsel of Liberty Counsel, stated: "Every public elementary school ought to welcome Good News Clubs. Parents appreciate them; children love them; and the First Amendment protects them. The First Amendment requires that similar groups be provided with equal treatment. Religious speech is not a disability. It is our preeminent freedom."
