Iran is getting very close in becoming the next nuclear power threat in the Middle East. Coming to the defense of Iran, Russia has signed an unprecedented agreement with Iran to sell them 29 of its Tor M-1 anti-missile systems. This development will complicate any planned pre-emptive attack on the rogue nation's nuclear facilities.

This anti-missile system could give the Iranian military the capabilities to intercept some cruise missiles if any country tries to challenge their growing nuclear threat.

The Russians are claiming they have the legal right to sell the arms as specified in the secret 1995 Gore-Chernomyrdin protocol. Thank you Mr. Gore!

The Gore-Chernomyrdin protocol was first disclosed publicly in 2000. It was the result of secret talks between then Vice President Al Gore and Russia's then-Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin. After the revelations in 2000, the State Department acknowledged Gore assured Russia that, under the provisions of the agreement, the U.S. would not sanction the Kremlin for Russian arm sales to Iran – through 1999.

One must wonder how many other secret agreements have been made between our government and other foreign governments that could affect the safety and well being of our military in the Middle East and general stability of the Middle East that is on very shaky grounds.

Bible prophecy experts have indicated that Russia will be a leading threat in the Middle East against Israel. Last month I reported that the purpose of Russia's presence in the Middle East in the Gaza Strip was to help the Palestinian Authority security forces enforce law and order. Much of the PLO and PA's weapons and equipment has been provided by the former USSR.

Hamas terrorist activities has a new stronghold in the the former Israeli territory. This development was feared when the Gaza was given over to the Palestine Authority

The Palestinian Authority has admitted in an official document published last month that parts of Gush Katif, the former Jewish communities of Gaza, are now "training camps" for terror groups.

In an exclusive story in October, WND reported Hamas has turned Neve Dekalim, the former capital of Gush Katif, into a "martyrs training camp," and has used the territory to fire rockets into Israel.

Palestinian Interior Minister Nasser Yousef  toured Gaza's former Jewish communities and detailed a PA plan to bring security to the area. Since Israel's withdrawal from Gaza in August, the land that comprised Gush Katif has been the scene of regular internal Palestinian clashes.

Early in November, officials placed barbed wire around Neve Dekalim, as well as signs posted in Arabic which describe the neighborhood as a "closed military zone."

Senior Hamas sources told WND the group transformed Dekalim into a "military training camp for martyrs," boasting that several Qassam rockets have been fired from the former Jewish capital into nearby Israeli Negev towns.

Hamas has taken credit for Israel's Gaza withdrawal and has become a formidable force in the area. It swept local municipal elections, and analysts expect the terror group to do well in upcoming Palestinian parliamentary elections.
